- Sculptor – commissions in papier maché
- Bash organiser and caterer for posh buffets - check out my cupcake tree when the photo gets online!
- Public speaker

- Tutor at local college – for literacy, ESOL, arts, back-to-work skills
- Charity work in communications
- Aid to communication for deaf students at university
- Greeting card publisher
- Trainee Chartered Accountant (this will be especially useful as an exciting career for some heroine… The hero will fall in love with her bank reconciliations but they’ll fall out over his VAT return).
- Proprietor of floristry/craft/art shop
- Marketing manager for a company hiring out plant and flower displays
- Driving instructor (I was - honest!)
- Silver service waitress in Norway
- Nurse, Barmaid, Secretary, Nanny
- First book written as soon as able to hold a pencil: entitled ‘The Cat’, it involved the ingestion of copious amounts of raspberry ice-cream as a certain cure for seasickness (if you were a cat). It was fully illustrated, too. (Wax crayons are great!)
